By chance, while walking along a sunny beach on the Alentejo coast, we discovered the shell of a Tegula Funebralis — the black turbaned snail — a kind of medium-sized marine snail of the Tegulidae family. Through microorganisms and motionless fragments we fell into a slow descent into the deep sea.
